The world has changed quite a bit since I wrote these last blog posts, COVID has essentially brought all in-person activities to an abrupt halt. I don’t know exactly what will happen when we return to school virtually in the fall, but I know that the 2020 marching season is not going to look like what I have described in the blogs above. However, the one thing that I am absolutely positive COVID did not change is our community and the bonds that our members share.
COVID may change how the marching band will be run, but there are still people in the program who are incredibly passionate and determined to make this year as successful and fun for incoming members as possible, despite the circumstances. While we can’t march, the community is still there, and, frankly, I value those friendships much more than the physical show.
